An earthquake measuring 6.4 magnitude struck Aceh

At least one person died and several others were injured after a magnitude 6.4 on the Richter scale (SR) rocked Aceh province, on Wednesday (07/11) morning.
Based on data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG), the epicenter was 18 kilometers northeast of Pidie Jaya district with a depth of 10 kilometers.
Although the earthquake was not accompanied by a tsunami warning, shock, which occurred at 5:03 pm could make people panic.
Junaidi, told reporters in Banda Aceh, reported thousands of people rushed to leave their homes after the quake struck. "In fact, there are some residents who drive in groups away from the sea," he said.
In a statement to reporters, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Aceh reported the quake was felt for about 15 seconds in Pidie Jaya and Pidie district.

Told BBC Indonesia, Puteh A Manaf BPBDs as head of Pidie Jaya said as many as 36 units of shop collapsed after exposure to earthquake shocks.

BMKG monitoring results showed up at 05:30 pm, and was an earthquake aftershock five times with the greatest strength of 4.8 on the Richter scale.
